My work explores aspects of personality/emotion which I feel are often difficult to define and express openly on a day-to-day basis. This theme is explored through various levels of release, playing with the viewers access through the contrasting notions of obscurity and exposure. I became interested in the seeming parallel between military paraphernalia and fetish apparel - two distinct and yet important expressions of masculinity. These two themes have become intertwined to inform my exploration of fetish and personality as topics of visual conversation.​

Parian busts that don different expressive masks provide the opportunity to visually explore these ever-evolving thoughts and feelings. The expressive qualities of material provide a visual language for communicating the obscure, where tentative masking toys with public unveiling.
